Paper power!

There was a time when the newspaper was an integral part of daily life. Every morning, my grandfather, like every TamBhram used to be the first one to pick up the crispy hot paper - The Hindu and rigorously read through all the sections. Easy chair and a cup of coffee with Hindu used to be grandpas regular routine. For me it was always the page 1-3 and the magazine. Later it slowly developed into the business sections as well. But forever favorite would be Metro plus and Young world that I still love.

Technology came and changed it all. Google news and all the TV channels give us breaking news, before the dear old newspaper could edit, plan and publish it. Many houses have inf act stopped buying any hard copies of the newspaper. We still buy the newspaper, but there is no one to cherish the beauty of the articles. I read the magazines when I get time, even though the main paper is glanced at like a routine every day. The primary reason for getting newspapers for me right now is not the news but to use it to cover shelves and to prevent spillage. That is one advantage of newspapers that any online channel can never take away. The newspaper is the most multi utility item that enters the house. Think around and atleast 10 uses in a daily life comes to the mind immediately. Right from craft material for the kid to makeshift carpet, it is truly the super star of any house.

Technology may come, Technology may go. Will the newspaper die? Definitely no!

Paper is definitely more powerful than newspaper :)
Reminds me of an Ad about usage of Paper towel where husband tries to convince his wife that tablet can be used for literally any of your day to day activities but not for cleaning your A**
Nice read though !!!

@huze: Definetely. While i can literally let my son tear apart the newspaper, the tablet is still closely monitored!
